I was born
A mistake

Me and my sister Todia
Got us some siblings
That’s cool
Sister and brother
And that brother same age
As me too?
Now on the other side
Of life
I got a sister and brother
Biological
He been drinking and smoking
With many others
But my new daddy man?
He got a big family too
So many uncles and aunties
The love I’m getting is cool
Can’t forget my mommas side
Got two uncles
And some aunties
And my granny
And my grandpa with multiple women
Married
So of course I’m learning early
How this loving is a luxury
But momma kept me close
Cause she knew that life
Was not for me

Years down the line
Prolly around age 9
Had a clear understanding
That my father’s on decline
Especially when my uncle
Told me one time
I had more siblings
But they moved to AZ
And they were fine
And now I wrestle
With these angry thoughts
Inside my mind
How a man could
Make all of these children
Yet couldn’t love me
Leave me
Then I learn the impact
Of catching things

Seeing my step brother & sister
Have connections
With their family
A vivid picture

While I was lost

Fast forward to when
I found out
I had more
Two more sisters and a brother
Almost fell to the floor
Now I’m married
With two children of my own
And the force
That combined my wife’s families
Is taking a toll
Got a nigga stretched thin
Tryna please everybody
Let’s not forget
2005 Todia died
Thats my heartbeat
I went through years
Of this grieving
And so much anger involved
That when I finally felt peace
My mom left with the lord
Oh God
Now I’m stuck
With these thoughts
Suicidal yet knowing
I got way more than I thought
I live for Kingston and Kendrick
I live for Shawntell Marie
I live for anybody connected
To my family
I’m such a patch work
Of living souls
Sewn on a quilt
Inside my heart
A living art
Just tryna love
From the start
And yes the lord
Knows my heart
Doing the best that I can
